Posting and safety guide
A practical guide to clear classifieds, safer exchanges, and useful discussions. These steps explain how to use NetTaxi's tools without treating a listing, profile, or badge as a guarantee.
Updated October 15, 2026 · General guidance, not legal or financial advice.
Write a listing someone can act on
A useful classified answers the questions a neighbor would ask before replying. On NetTaxi, select a category, subcategory, and the city where the item or opportunity is actually located. A city filter is a way to find relevant posts, not evidence that a seller is local. Avoid copying one offer into unrelated cities or categories.
Replace vague promises with concrete details
Use a title that identifies the item or work, its defining feature, and an important condition. For example, “Oak dining table, seats six, pickup only” says more than “Amazing deal.” This is an illustration, not an available offer. In the description, state what is included, dimensions or model, age if known, visible damage, asking price, and whether the price is negotiable. If an item is free, explain whether the recipient must provide transport or lifting help.
- Housing: identify the type of space, approximate location, rent period, deposit, utilities, availability, and viewing arrangements. Do not publish an occupied unit's access code or a tenant's private information.
- Jobs and gigs: describe the tasks, location, schedule, pay basis, required skills, and how to apply. Distinguish one-time work from continuing employment. Do not require applicants to purchase gift cards or send money to unlock a job.
- Services: describe your service area, what the quoted price includes, exclusions, and how scheduling works. Only claim licensing, insurance, or qualifications you actually hold.
Show the condition, not just the best angle
Use current photos you took or have permission to publish. Include an overall view and close-ups of wear, missing parts, and labels that help identify the item. Remove visible addresses, documents, license plates, or other people's faces when they are not necessary to the offer. Do not use stock photos as if they show the actual item.
Finish the listing's lifecycle
Respond to practical questions through the listing's contact option or NetTaxi messages. When the item sells, the position fills, or the offer expires, open your post while signed in and choose “Close post.” Closing adds a CLOSED label; it does not erase the post or its feedback. Do not leave an unavailable offer open simply to collect replies.
Create a classified listingCheck the offer before you commit
NetTaxi provides listings and communication tools, not checkout, escrow, delivery, insurance, or a payment guarantee. Members arrange transactions themselves. A profile, star rating, or verified badge should never replace independent checks of the specific item, person, or business you are dealing with.
Ask questions that expose missing information
Confirm that the offer is still available and ask about anything absent from the description. For a used appliance, ask to see it operating and clarify whether delivery is included. For furniture, measure doorways and ask who will help load it. For a service, get the scope, materials, payment stages, and cancellation arrangements in writing before work starts.
Recognize payment and identity traps
- A buyer “overpays” by check and asks you to send the difference to a courier. Do not forward money; a deposited check can later be reversed.
- A supposed landlord will not show the property but wants an urgent deposit. Independently verify the property and the person's authority to rent it before paying.
- An employer sends a check for equipment and tells you to buy from a specific supplier. Verify the employer through independently found contact information before acting.
- Someone requests a sign-in or text-message code to “prove you are real.” Never share verification codes, passwords, or account recovery links.
Plan a safer exchange
Where practical, meet in a busy public place during daylight, tell a trusted person your plans, and inspect the item before paying. For items that must be collected from a home, arrange an appropriate pickup time and consider bringing someone with you. A screenshot of a payment is not proof that your account received it; check directly using your own bank or payment app.
If something has already gone wrong
Stop sending money and preserve the listing address, messages, receipts, and transaction details. Contact your payment provider promptly to ask about recovery options. In the United States, you can submit a fraud report to the Federal Trade Commission. A report does not guarantee reimbursement. Contact local emergency services if anyone is in immediate danger.
Add something original to the conversation
NetTaxi's forums work best when a thread gives readers a reason to respond. Choose the closest topic and explain your question, firsthand experience, or point of view in the post itself. A bare link or embedded video leaves readers guessing about why it matters. Add your own summary, identify what you agree or disagree with, and ask a focused question.
Separate observation, opinion, and evidence
If you describe a local event, explain when it happened and what you personally observed. When discussing a factual claim, link to its original source rather than copying an entire article. Label personal opinions as opinions and avoid presenting an allegation as an established fact. Never invent a testimonial, review, or local event to make the site look active.
Respect people and creators
Disagree with ideas without threats, harassment, hateful attacks, or sharing private information. Post only photos, videos, text, and other material you created or have permission to share. Linking to a source does not grant permission to reproduce its full work. NetTaxi does not allow adult, sexual, or massage service listings.
Use the existing community tools thoughtfully
Reply to the relevant post so readers can follow the discussion. Use “helpful” for contributions that actually help, not as a popularity contest. If you encounter a forum thread or reply that appears to violate the rules, sign in and use its “report” button, then select the reason. A report is a request for review, not automatic removal, and the reporting tool is not an emergency service.
If your own thread is no longer current, you can close it. A closed thread remains visible and can still receive replies and feedback, so use the status to communicate that the original question or offer has ended rather than to silence other members.
